Surf Check Driving School

At Surf Check Driving School in Santa Cruz County, our goal is to provide all students an engaging Driver’s Training, a Behind-the-Wheel experience that promotes safety, skills, and knowledge of driving laws. Every lesson is developed with each student’s individual needs in mind. Partnering with parents or guardians, we make sure that each student becomes a safe and competent driver on the streets and highways of Santa Cruz and beyond.

About Us

Surf Check Driving School is a California state bonded, licensed, and insured driving school. Driving instructor, Mark, has lived in Santa Cruz County for over 30 years and has been a Driver’s Education/Training teacher for 25 years with the Santa Cruz City Schools and with Surf Check Driving School. Combined, Mark and his wife, co-owner Barbara, have over 55 years of educational experience teaching in Santa Cruz County public schools. They each pride themselves on being a local small business that truly cares about keeping Santa Cruz roads safe for everyone.

Surf Check Driving School works with teens, international students, and adult drivers of all ages. Our services satisfy the requirements to obtain a CA permit and/or driver’s license. Our vehicles are environmentally green and are equipped with dual controls; an instructor's brake and an additional rear view mirror.
